Pennsylvania drivers know that weather can be an issue on the road. This is especially true in the colder months, when snow and ice quickly accumulate. These hazardous road conditions often lead to car accidents that result not only in property damage but also serious injuries. Tragically, this was the case in a recent accident where one man lost his life and another person was injured.
According to police, the accident occurred in the early morning hours of March 15. One vehicle was traveling southbound when it hit a patch of ice and snow that caused the driver to lose control. It then crossed the center line into the northbound lanes, striking the victim’s vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital via helicopter where he later passed away due to the severity of his injuries. Police indicate that another person was injured in the collision, but did not specify if it was the other driver or a passenger in one of the vehicles. That person was also flown to the hospital for treatment.
The loss of a loved one is a difficult experience for any family. However, the family of this victim may still seek some closure by consulting an attorney to file a wrongful death claim in civil court. If the claim is successful, they may then receive monetary damages that could help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and other documented financial losses related to the crash. Any Pennsylvania families who have lost loved ones in car accidents could also file wrongful death claims with the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney.
