Because many people in Pennsylvania spend a significant amount of time driving, they may not always fully realize the responsibility they have when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle. Unfortunately, what may seem like a simple mistake to some drivers could ultimately have significant, long-term consequences for themselves as well as those in their immediate vicinity. In fact, one person was killed and two injured in a recent car crash.
Reports indicate that the incident happened just after midnight. According to reports, at least three people were traveling in the vehicle involved in the crash. The vehicle is said to have crashed into a store that was closed at the time.
One law enforcement officer says that the vehicle entered the building to the left of the door, crashing through brick and glass. A 39-year-old passenger was killed in the accident while a second passenger suffered critical injuries. The 37-year-old driver apparently suffered moderate injuries. The front aisles of the store were destroyed.
It is unclear if criminal charges against the driver are anticipated, but the car crash remains under investigation. While law enforcement officers work to determine the exact cause, a family must face the news of the unexpected loss of their loved one while another victim may just be starting what could be a lengthy recovery. Both the injured passenger and family of the deceased may potentially be facing a precarious financial situation as a result of the incident. As such, they may choose to file a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit against the driver based upon evidence of negligence.
